There are myriad ways to make the world a better place by harnessing the power of the supply chain. As an association, WERC makes an ongoing effort to support those in need by sharing requests for help from organizations such as the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) and Feeding America with our members and customers. Additionally, through local WERCouncils, WERC members frequently give back to their communities through volunteer activities, funding scholarships and more. You'll find both opportunities to help and kudos for WERC members' philanthropy here.

Hurricane Harvey Assistance Needed (8/25/17)
As you are aware, Hurricane Harvey is expected to hit Texas and will disrupt commerce with devestating flooding and wind damage. Many of our members are in the path of this storm and WERC hopes all will be safe.
WERC and its members support American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) and if you want to offer your services in advance, or if you need services, please contact Kathy Fulton, ALAN Executive Director, at (863) 668-4238 or at Kathy@ALANaid.org.
While ALAN does not currently have any logistics support requests at this time, they are anticipating that there will be, not yet identified, needs for warehouse space, transportation, and material handling equipment. These requests may take several days to a week to surface as damage assessments are completed and local resources exhausted.
As requests are received, they will be shared via our weekly newsletter and social media outlets. You can also find up-to-date information on ALAN's logistics map.
Thank you for your continued support of ALAN and all those served!
American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN)
The American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) was founded by several professional and trade associations who came together after Hurricane Katrina to help provide humanitarian relief. Today ALAN comprises hundreds of supply-chain businesses who stand poised to respond in the event of disasters. We are experts in transportation, warehousing, cold storage, and distribution, and we can help locate and move goods from suppliers to affected communities rapidly and efficiently.
If you are able to donate space and/or transportation please contact Kathy at kathy@ALANaid.org or submit your offer here: http://alanaid.org/how-to-help/offerinkind/
Our mission is to feed America's hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage our country in the fight to end hunger. We feed 46 million people at risk of hunger, including 12 million children and 7 million seniors. Learn more about how we get food to people in need in our "How We Work" section. Support Feeding America and help solve hunger.
Feeding America is looking for donations of equipment to replace what is lost in flooding and natural disasters. If you think you can help contact Mark Biewald at email@example.com.
