About WERCouncils

Some call them chapters – Some call them roundtables. We call them WERCouncils.

The first WERCouncil was established in 1981 by WERC members who wanted to offer educational and peer networking opportunities – similar to the experienced found at the WERC Annual Conference – but more frequently, and on a local level.  More than 35-years later, the same goals remain.

Currently, there are 17 active WERCouncils located throughout the United States and Canada. Don’t have a local WERCouncil in your area, but are interested in starting one? To find out how to start a WERCouncil chapter in your state or region click here.

Volunteer at Your Regional WERCouncil

Becoming involved with a WERCouncil is a great way to enhance your WERC membership. Your local chapter always welcomes volunteers to help ensure their events deliver maximum value to participants.

Customize your volunteer experience based on your interests and schedule. Volunteer opportunities range from leadership on the Board of Officers to project-based event planning and participation that lets you engage throughout the year as your schedule permits (such as organizing or hosting a facility tour, education session or community service event).
