Philadelphia/ Delaware Valley WERCouncil Tour Package
The officers of the Philadelphia / Delaware Valley WERCouncil are excited
to offer, for the 7th year, the 2007-2008 WERCouncil Program Package for
both members and non-members. Payment must be received by October
11th to receive the February Joint Dinner Meeting free.
The programs that will be offered in this year’s package are:
1. October 11, 2007 – this tour will be of the Pepperidge Farm manufacturing and distribution center in Denver , PA. A subsidiary of the Campbell Soup Company since 1960, Pepperidge Farm manufactures bakery products including puff pastry, stuffing, and frozen cakes and breads.
2. November 14, 2007 – we will tour the world’s largest and most modern battery manufacturing facility of DEKA Batteries/East Penn Manufacturing located in Lyon Station, PA. East Penn Manufacturing makes thousands of different sizes and types of lead-acid batteries, battery accessories, and wire & cable products for virtually any application. Since 1946, they have developed an enviable reputation for world-class quality products made in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.
3. February 2008 – this a joint dinner meeting of AST&L, APICS, CSCMP, PMAP, WERC which will be held at the William Penn Inn. The speaker is still to be determined.
4. March 12, 2008 – the event will commence with dinner (cost included) at a local restaurant and will be followed by a tour of the newly constructed DHL East Coast Distribution Facility in Allentown , PA. The tour will be conducted at 9:00 pm. This facility serves as a major hub for the parcel delivery for the mid-Atlantic area.
Total Package cost: $75.00
This includes 3 events as well as the Joint Dinner Meeting networking event. If registered individually each of the 3 tours cost $25 per person, and the Joint Dinner Meeting networking evening costs $40 per person. Yes, that’s a $40 savings! What a deal!
