October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month

 

Many warehouse operations are hiring the disabled, as entry-level labor is hard to find, & keep. Walgreen's new DC in Anderson, SC, has 43% of it's total workforce folks that disabled.

The disabled population has a 73% unemployment rate in the US and is an untapped labor pool most are not looking at. Go to www.disabilityworks.org for recent results from study to dis-spell myths about disabled workers.

 


ALAN:
An Industry Initiative

ALAN is a collaborative association focusing on disaster recovery that is comprised of leading associations representing all phases of the logistics and supply chain industries. In this session, we will explain the concept, outline the organizing steps and look to engage more people in ALAN activities like attendance at emergency/disaster related meetings, meeting with Mass Care agencies to understand ALAN need and opportunity and ALAN project-related work.
